Best of 2016: Fuuka
By Dustin Cabeal
I don’t read the weekly manga. I don’t have the time for it, and I usually end up forgetting to check in and read the series. For some reason, I gave Fuuka a chance and ended up getting caught up on the series over a weekend. I think it was something like seven volumes total but read as chapters. The point being, this series is good that I patiently wait to read more each week.
The story is about a rock band, and I don’t particularly like telling people anything else about it because the journey and surprises are what made me fall in love with Fuuka. If you want to hear more, you can listen to this episode of the CBMFP in which I gush over it like a crazed fan. Fuuka changed my mind about weekly manga, and while I haven’t dived into any others yet, I’m much more willing to now. Hopefully the anime coming out next year will be on my best of list, but for now, the manga will do just fine.
