Best of 2016: The Fist
By Dustin Cabeal
If you’re a fan of comics and have read an impressive amount of them and pride yourself on the knowledge, then you should read The Fist. It’s part comic homage, part “I can do that better” and all of it is entertaining and violent.
It’s about a man that’s called “The Fist” entering a fighting tournament to win some money for his wife… who’s a spaceship. It’s hysterical, but then creator Jordan Kroeger flips it all and makes it a deep and emotional story. Suddenly this hilarious story filled with homage and violence also had heart… it’s the total package and if I was ranking just indie comics on their own, this would get my top spot.
