The thing I’ve come to love about comic books is that you can read ten comics in one week and they’ll all be completely different from one another, but each great in its own way. For instance take Doctor Mirage which has a sliver of the superhero genre as inspiration, but mostly resides in the supernatural adventure genre.

Wytches is a comic that keeps on getting better, and for a series that started out as good as it was right out of the gates, that’s certainly saying something.
Read MoreReview: Drifter #2
To be completely honest I was sure I was going to review Drifter this month. While I enjoyed the first issue, I didn’t fall in love with it. There wasn’t even a strange sense of continuing with the reviews for the sake of the audience like there is with some titles (my fellow reviewers know what I mean). I even had a hard time motivating myself to read it. But then I did read it.

The twins, Minette and Mallory, are prisoners aboard a military cargo transport plane. They call upon Battra to come to their rescue.

So I don’t think anyone picks up a Walt Simonson comic in the year of our lord 2014 and thinks “this comic probably won’t be good.”
Read MoreReview: Intersect #2
I felt really twisted after reading Intersect #1. I am assuming that Ray Fawkes wanted us to feel that twisted. It was difficult to completely understand what was all going on, but the mind tricks the comic played was good enough to keep me hooked. So I loved how issue #2 started for the reader.

We open on a panel showing Destoroyah in the water as steam plumes rise from the monster’s body.
Read MoreReview: Lumberjanes #9
The Roanoke Cabin girls are having a classic night of camping; no mythical creatures, no Greek gods, no kittens holy. Just good ol’ fashioned s’mores, campfire, and spooky stories. Lumberjanes #9 is a fun standalone, showing each girl’s attempt to tell the scariest story.

I was intrigued by this new comic coming out from Image. Not only did the cover reak of horror fiction, but John Arcudi and James Harren came together to co-create this new comic.
