I like the idea of Her Idea. I think it’s a good kid’s book to exist, but the ending needed some more work. I know that’s strange to say in the beginning of a review, but this isn’t going to be a very long review so we may as well dive right into it.
Read MoreReview: The Hunter
The Hunter is more in line with an animated short, in fact if it were an animated short it would be fantastic. As a short story it’s mostly fantastic, but stumbles with its pacing at times. It follows the story of the Fourth Earl of Reisenskog and his obsession for hunting.

Hand Drawn Jokes for Smart Attractive People may not be for you… but don’t tell anyone. If anyone asks you loved them all and especially that one on page thirty-seven. Actually the idea behind Hand Drawn Jokes for Smart Attractive People isn’t a new one.
Read MoreReview: Cyber Realm
Cyber Realm is an interesting story. It’s like an indie comic Mad Max world and that should kind of tell you everything about it. The story kicks off with our main character all cybered out betting up some thugs of “The Master.” In this apocalyptic world The Master rules everything and his different generals and thugs roam the lands and collect taxes and such. Basically it’s good to be bad in this world.
Read MoreReview: iZombie 1.1 - Pilot
If I had to describe this first episode in a word that word would definitely be ‘charming’. I don’t know much about iZombie only recently learning that it was a comic book and judging by the opening credits it’s a Vertigo book at that.

That’s Angar the fucking Screamer! Number one in obscure Marvel villains that I am SO happy to see.

I really want to be quoted as liking this book by Marvel so I’m going to open this review with a killer, impossible to ignore line. Are you ready? Are you sure? Here it comes! This is it, my killer opener! Ready? I’m nuts about Unbeatable Squirrel Girl!
Read MoreReview: Witchblade #181
So I have a ton to complain about this issue. From start to finish this feels like a rushed comic. A rushed comic with horrible dialogue and a complete lack of internal logic. Which means I get to rip into it with complete glee!
Read MoreReview: Millennium #2
This is too mysterious for its own good. Two issues in and I have no idea what this book about. Is it about the shady group of people in the last issue hoisting glasses to the new millennium in the World Trade Center?

This is much improved from the last issue. We get a little bit away from Sonja and instead focus on our supporting protagonist, the Bride of Frankenstein as well as our antagonist Viktor Frankenstein.
Read MoreReview: TMNT #44
Our story got pretty heavy last month, and it wasn’t a surprise that none of it got resolved. These Turtles are always getting themselves into something and the trouble just seems to mount up with every new issue.
Read MoreReview: Spread #6
Awesome. If you like mutated monsters, if you like all out carnage, if you love action then you will like this comic. I dig the art style, the bright red of the spread against stark white snow.
Read MoreReview: Plunder #2
I couldn’t resist jumping on Plunder #2 for the review. Not just because I’m a huge fan of Skud McKinley’s (I have a print and an original piece of his on my wall in front of me), but because I really enjoyed the first issue. It was different from basically every comic I’ve read recently and that was something to be celebrated in my opinion.

Secret Identities #2 gives us a bit more of the team dynamic. There’s some shady business that one of the members might be involved in. Mostly I’m still trying to keep track of how many members are on this team. Six? We just don’t know.
Read MoreReview: Chrononauts #1
I’m going to be totally up front with this review. I’m not the world’s biggest Mark Millar fan. There was a time in which I gobbled up anything he wrote and those stories for the most part still hold up with me today. Lately though… well I would say “not so much”, but it’s more like “not at all.” I have read the first issue of almost all of his Image titles and I haven’t made it past the first issue of any of them.

When Mike Mignola launches a new title people tend to pay attention. I mean really pay attention. The man has the largest independent shared universe of any creator that I know of and each month the separate titles produce stories at an extremely high quality. So yeah, when Mignola launches a new title people tend to pay attention and I’m one of those people.
