The conclusion for Death of Love is finally here, and it’s a bittersweet moment to be sure. The last time we saw our characters, they were facing off against Eros. Eros, as a gentle reminder is the god of love and is almost literally designed to look like Jason Mamoa in bondage. So this isn’t something you want to be missing.

The second to last issue of Death of Love is here, and I have to admit it’s already a little bittersweet. I’ve been enjoying this series, so I’ll be sad to see it go. In the meantime, I’m going to do my very best to enjoy it while I have it! In the last issue, we saw Philo drugging his two (and possibly only) friends to prove that he wasn’t crazy (because that’s the sort of thing a sane and considerate person would do…oh wait), and well…they now understand what he’s been wailing about this whole time.

Things took quite a turn in the last issue of Death of Love. We were left with Philo staring down at a very dead cupid, while the rest of the cupidae immediately realized that Binky was dead. That’s not exactly a situation I’d want to be in, considering how deadly those little guys apparently are. Then again, I’m sure Philo would rather not be in the situation either (though it was his pride that caused this whole issue to begin with…).

In issue #1 of Death of Love our main character, Harris, was a little on the dumb side and took a drug from a complete stranger (something I’m pretty sure our parents have been trying to teach us not to do since before we could walk…but whatever). The drug? Well apparently it can give you the ability to see cupids (cupidae?), and trust me; they do not like being seen. When we last saw Harris, he was running to the bathroom in a panic, hoping that the cupid he spotted wouldn’t shoot him with an arrow (and not the ‘make you fall in love’ type of arrow either).

030 - Plenty of love in the air on this podcast, but only because I forgot to close the window! No idea what that means, I'm just doing the obligatory acknowledgment of Valentines. I'll do the same next month for St. Drunk People's Day. I cover a lot of comics on the show today. All but two of them released today. If you don't want the advanced reviews spoiled for you, stop listening after I talk about Sideways. I would give you an exact time, but then I'd have to listen to the show, and I'm not going to do that!

Death of Love is a new series, and it certainly appears to have a lot of potential. The fact that its first issue drops on Valentine’s Day is just a bonus, if you ask me. The story follows a man named Philo Harris, and let’s be honest here, he’s a bit of a jerk. And not the type that can own up to it, but the type that thinks he deserves the girl because he pretended to be nice to her. The man was willing to try anything in the book to get girls to want him, and apparently that willingness is about to lead him into a heap of trouble.
