Is it just me or has anyone else noticed how different Todoroki’s hair looks since his battle with Midoriya. It’s funny how his hair almost reflects his state of mind. Before his hair was flat and lifeless giving him an air of indifference, frigidity, and formality but after his fight with Midoriya it has assumed a more tousled look. His whole demeanor seems to have changed; it’s like a complete weight has been lifted from his shoulders causing him to appear more relaxed and even a little carefree. It looks as if Todoroki’s transformation has begun; gone is the aloof, solemn, and rebellious hero. His reconciliation with his mother will be the final factor in making his transfiguration complete; I cannot wait to see how this new and improved Todoroki will interact with his peers from now on and how he will develop as a hero. Will Todoroki join Midoriya’s band of friends or will he remain a lone wolf who only interferes when necessary? Personally, I’m hoping for the former, but I have a feeling that Todoroki might fall into the latter category despite his reformation.
Enough about Todoroki and his hair though; I’m a little surprised how quick the fight between Todoroki and Bakugou was considering the build up to the finale. I wasn’t disappointed about the fact that their fight was shorter than Midoriya and Shinso’s, but I was shocked by the outcome. I was certain that Todoroki would fight Bakugou with all his power, so when he didn’t, it took the wind out of my sails. However, I love when the unexpected happens, so despite my immediate shock, I was very content with the result of their fight. I’m eager to see how Bakugou’s persona will be affected by his win at the sports festival seeing we only caught a glimpse of his feelings towards the results. Will he be able to eventually conquer his anger and become the amazing hero we expect him to be, or will he allow himself to remain riled up while his peers continue to outshine him, not for their physical strength but for their strength of character? I’m so excited to see how these two very distinct characters will develop over the course of this season.
