Review: Supergirl: Being Super #4

As a reviewer, it's always interesting to reach the end of a series that you've been covering from the beginning. It doesn't matter how long or short the run was. There's just something kind of surreal about looking back and knowing that you were successful in committing to be there for every single issue. It's even crazier when the book sucked, and you had to muscle your way through and to the end. In this case, Supergirl: Being Super doesn't suck. It had a slow start, but it never sucked. And, this fourth and final installment serves as a fairly successful conclusion, wrapping up plot threads both in ways I did and way I didn't expect.

Review: Supergirl: Being Super #3

After a month or two delay, Supergirl: Being Super is back with issue #3, and here I am with it. I actually just reread my reviews of the previous couple issues for the sake of retrospection. The upshot of that process? Well, I now feel like a sinner that need repent for their actions. That is to say, I really like this one, and I'm regretting discouraging some people from picking it up in my first review. Don't get me wrong, I still stand by it being a slow start. However, this issue proved to me that it was totally worth it and more than paying off.

Review: Red Line #1

When I heard that one of the dudes behind shows like Archer and Sealab 2021 was writing a comic book I was super pumped. I said to myself that this thing had to be the book. That it would be fun and hilarious and well, basically, like reading a comic book version of one of those shows. I can see that here, kind of. I can feel it in the book, at least of the periphery. But sadly, I also could feel that something was missing. I’m not sure what it is, but whatever it is the book just never clicked for me.
